Lightborne was founded by Kyle, whose background in land use planning and real estate development brings a deep sensitivity to how buildings are designed, marketed, and experienced within the unique context of Vancouver Island. That perspective informs an approach to photography that goes beyond simple documentation, with a focus on clarity, proportion, and the relationships between spaces.
The goal is to find the angles that best express the character of a room, a building, or a property — whether it’s a heritage renovation in Vic West, a modern intervention in Oak Bay, or a classic family home in Langford. Natural light, accurate colour, and precise verticals are central to the process, resulting in images that feel calm, inviting, and believable.
When not behind the camera or reviewing plans, Kyle can usually be found exploring the island with his two kids or planning the next trail run.
